Comments:

After 25 years in the marine engineering/naval architecture business, mostly in the DC area, happily settled on Sanibel Island in 1992. Tried my hand in real estate as a way to get here before I was too old to enjoy it. (If you've ever been to Sanibel you'll understand that. Now I am old!)

I love the work (nice clients), where I live (sunny, beachy, always in flip flops). Business is good, & my son/daughter-in-law work with me. Don't know when I'll retire.

Spend spare time traveling (not enough), so hope to one day have more time for that. Europe, particularly the Mediterranean, a favorite.

In 2012, after our 45th reunion, some of the RTA '66 girls took a week-long Caribbean cruise together. (Dayle Emery (Jones), Gail Fletcher (Bradbard), Janis Tarling (Lorenzen), Bonnie Pucko (Haley), & me. Picked up right where we left off years ago! If anyone wants me to plan another cruise, just say the word, I have been on many including a few solo. It's fun & easy way to travel.

In 2014, Gail Fletcher (Bradbard) & I spent nearly 3 weeks together again. We started in Barcelona, then toured the rest of Spain, ending with a transAtlantic cruise. In fall 2015, Gail & I are taking another quick girls' trip to the Dominican Republic. Old friends definitely are the best!

Looking forward to our 50th next!

School Story:

This one's for Chilla. He's right, we need more school stories:

Remember when French Club went to Quebec City with Mrs. Trefethern (sp?)? Not only was my original birth certificate forever altered after that trip (so we could get into the discos), but the return bus trip coming back across the U.S. border & Customs will forever be in my memory bank.

As I recall, Gail Fletcher & Susan Riley had something to do with this stunt.

We all had on our traveling finery (mine was a new pink Easter coat with matching dress). In order to smuggle fireworks back home, we sewed them into the lining of our coats & wore them during the return trip. So uncomfortable. Worst part was we spent the ride sneaking smokes. Wonder we didn't go up in a kaboom. Sometimes teenagers are idiots. Got the darn things back home & then didn't know what to do with them. We sure had fun on that trip though.

Sorry to read Chilla's message about Mr. McFeeley's passing. He was a favorite teacher of mine too. Actually had corresponded with him in recent years & sent him a card not long ago thanks to a Facebook posting by another classmate who visited him & posted his address. Hard to believe that he continued to live alone at that age. May we all be so lucky! RIP, Mr. McFeeley, though some of us didn't appreciate it at the time, you made a real impact on our future!

In case you forgot about your birthday trip 2 years ago. This is in Barcelona. Loved our days in that city before we landed in this cruise ship suite to tour other Spanish ports before coming across the Atlantic! Be thankful I didn't post a pix of our getups on Halloween with the boys, or riding a camel in the Canary Islands. Fun times! Happy birthday, Gail!

Some of the girls from the Class of '66 as a result of our 45th reunion, headed south for a reunion cruise. This was taken pre-cruise on 4/14/12 at Trader's Restaurant on Sanibel Island, after a day at my pool. Here are Bonnie Pucko Haley & Gail Fletcher Bradbard.

When we boarded the Ruby Princess on Sunday, 4/15/12, it was Bonnie's 64th Birthday, so of course we decked her out in a birthday girl tiara & lei.

Three cruise mates enjoy the gelato in the atrium of the Ruby Princess. Here are Jan Tarling Lorenzen, Gail, & Bonnie after a day at the pool.

This was taken right after we attended a "How to Reduce Belly Fat" presentation at the spa on the Ruby Princess. We decided we'd put that advice to good use after the cruise, so this is Gail & Bonnie hitting the pizza bar.

On our day in St Martin on 4/18, we hired a driver to take us to Grande Case Beach Club on the French side for lunch. My favorite waitress remembered me & even had on a gift I'd given her many years ago. What fun we had that day. Here are Alberto, Gail, Susan, Bonnie, Dayle Emery Jones, & Jan. Anguilla is in the distance.
