Thanks Dixie....I think it's pretty cute too. At Normas it would be just choosing a time for our group and call it brunch/lunch.

I am looking for a place for "brunch."  Jeri has recommended one and so has Tom.  It will depend on how many people want to attend.......brunch......

Sunday brunch at the Wentworth is amazing, and it's a handy location. It lasts until 2:00, which is good for some of us, and they freely refill your champagne over and over. Sunday brunch at the Sheraton ends at 12:30. I haven't been to that one for a long time, so can't comment on quality. My dining companion last Sunday said Wentworth's is better. But maybe a more casual venue is wanted by most?

Sounds good.  However, cost is an important facor.  Does the Wentworth simply charge thos who come?

Gail has an idea concerning this, too.

I think that people will have plenty of imbibing done between Friday and Saturday evening.

What about a class picture?

I plan to arrange/schedule a Friday night gathering at the Went with the intent for each of us can handle our own account.  Perhaps in September, I will ask via a post on this forum regarding attendance, to give the Went a ballpark number.

The last time we did this there, it all was rather impromptu; there was no booking fee, etc., and only a bill at the end of the evening.

Hope we do a class pic again, at Traip. Brunch location is fine wherever to me. Since Wentworth will be the Friday night spot, it might be more fun to go elsewhere on Sunday. I prefer midday, but don't have to travel afterward, so don't want to influence the time.

We are planning to do the reunion and probably  brunch.  I think a class picture would be nice.  Even at the reunion would be okay with me.

For future reference, is Uber active and readily avialable in the Portsmouth/Kittery/Kittery Point area?

04/30/16 08:35 AM #39

Jerilee Connor (Zezula)

Uber is there but having issues. Their fees were just cut by Uber and drivers are threatening to drop out.  There are at least 3 traditional taxi services.  I would say check again as fall approaches.

Thank you, Jerilee!  I will do as you suggest; the thing about Uber is that it is so easy to hail one, at least here in Houston.  Traditional cabs here, on the other hand, are about as reliable as Johny Manziel!

Jeri, Please use 281-928-1712 as the number you posted is no longer valid.

Thank you for all you do for our class, Jeri!!!

At our last class breakfast Gail had mentioned a possible brunch at Kittery Estates.  Is that an option for Sunday and/or has it been discussed? I know it makes for a busy three days for all us "old folks" but it is our 50th and who knows if and when we will see one another again. Why not make the most of it?  For those that travel a distance, having these events, three in three days, makes sense.  We all know you don't get a chance to speak with everyone and three days gives more time to touch base with those you haven't seen.

Just an FYI for everyone.  It would be nice for the class members to give a get well to Gil Shaw who recently had his 4th pacemaker in five years.  He is home and on the mend.  Additionally, when I last spoke with Carolyn, she was due to go in for surgery mid-June.  A call or card of well wishes would be great!  Take care everyone!! smiley

God willing, I am coming to our 50th Class Reunion and the check will be in the mail today (7/25/16).  I've had some health issues (pneumonia?) that doesn't seem to want to go away.  But I decided I'd better get the check in the mail anyway so that I can come, if all goes well.  Looking forward to seeing everyone and wish more classmates in the Kittery area would come to, as I'd love to see them too.  Donna Blaney Tolson

Curt - Nice Open Letter to the RTA Class of '66.  I agree with your sentiments.  But it looks like you and a number of others will not be making it to the 50th Reunion.  That's too bad; you'll definitely be missed.  After the successful 45th, I was kind of expecting a larger turn-out for this one.  But, the Class is getting older and there are many understandable reasons for not coming...especially for those who live "away".  I wish you well, whatever your reasons for not being able to come.  I hope it's nothing health related...we all need to hold onto our health for as long as we can!

I expect that class members will continue to meet as groups periodically, and not just at the annual Golden Grads.  Maybe this website can be used as a mechanism for folks who do not live locally to "alert" others when they will be in the area.  A meet-up for something as simple as coffee or a beer should be easily arranged.  Many times  "Arny's Breakfasts at Norma's" seem like a mini-class reunion, and I'm sure there are other get togethers in addition.  One of the benefits of our 45th (and retirement) is that  some of us were able to re-connect with old friends.  Hopefuly, that will continue after the 50th as well.

Best wishes,

David Raymond

Digital Photos for Reunion Slideshow Wanted

I hope to put together a slide show for the reunion.  If you have any appropriate digital photos of "back then" or now, please email them to me at zezula2@comcast.net .   The show will be silent and set up for you to view sometime during the evening if you wish.  I do have  the powerpoint Arny made from our 45th and will incorporate that.

Thanks!  Jeri

Curt, I enjoyed you article about our special closeness as a class. If we do try to organize another reunion I believe it may be smaller in number. I have not contributed to reunion preparation as I am not local. Those who have done the most amount of work deserve a Hugh THANK YOU!!!  Because of the special bond we have developed over 50 years, ( eeeeh gads!! 50 years--- hard to believe as I try to remain 45 or 50!  ) I am for an individual reunion in 5 years . I want to connect WITH MY CLASSMATES!!

Of course, this is my opinion personally. Having a reunion every 5 years has made us remain closer.

Anxious to see all on the 8th.

Sincerely, Jan Tarling Lorenzen
